Varagu Ven Pongal – Kodo Millet Ven Pongal

Product Description

Varagu / Kodo millet has a great effect on postmenopause women suffering from cardiovascular diseases. It helps in lowering high blood pressure, and high sugar levels. Kodo millet can prevent constipation by hydrating the colon.

Ingredients 

  1. Kodo Millet
  2. Cashew Nut
  3. Pepper
  4. Cumin
  5. Ghee
  6. Salt
  7. Asafoetida
  8. Curry Leaves

Preparation Method

  1. Pour 600 ml water in a cooker and add the Varagu Ven Pongal mix to it. 
  2. Cashew nut, pepper, and cumin will be given a packet along with our ready mix. 
  3. Take a vessel and pour 50 ml oil, 2 tablespoon ghee and add finely chopped ginger to it. 
  4. Add a teaspoon of asafoetida (perungayam) curry leaves, and pepper, let it fry a little. 
  5. Add the fried items to the cooker and finally add salt to your need and let it cook for 10 minutes in medium heat. 
  6. Add some butter to a pan, and fry the Cashews until they are golden brown. 
  7. Garnish the Ven Pongal with the fried cashews and serve it hot!
